You can embrace the gifts of fear! In this course, you’ll learn about the different kinds of fear, the gifts that fear brings, and its (and therefore, your) relationship to procrastination, change, and intuition. You’ll also examine your assumptions and unconscious contracts around the fear family.
Examine Your Assumptions About Fear
Fear is an emotion that people tend to shy away from, and distance themselves from, because there are so many negative assumptions about what feeling fear means. In this course, you’ll be working from the DEI definition of fear; fear is your instincts, intuition, and your focused attention, and it helps you adjust to changes in your physical and emotional environment.
In this course with licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration® professional Anchen Texter, you will be examining your own assumptions about what fear is and isn’t, learning how to identify the feeling of fear in your body, and working with the 5 Empathic Mindfulness practices to regulate your emotions, update contracts, and hone your relationship with your instincts and intuition.
You’ll be looking at the role that fear plays in relationship to procrastination, emotion-shaming messages, handling change, and how fear is often confused with other emotions, such as panic or anxiety.
Embrace the Gifts of Fear
Throughout this course, you’ll reflect on your assumptions about fear, your relationship to fear, and the unconscious contracts you hold around the fear family of emotions. Through a series of journal prompts and self-directed experiential exercises, as well as the optional forum questions and live webinars, you’ll explore the ways in which your fear shapes your behavior and supports your ability to cope with change.
In this course, you’ll explore:
• How your fear feels physically and emotionally in your body and mind (it may not be what you think!)
• The assumptions and emotion-shaming messages you hold about fear.
• The emotion-supporting messages that ring true for you.
• A 4-step process designed to help you bring conscious awareness to working with fear.
• How your intuition is already showing up in your life.
• The way that fear interacts with panic, anxiety, shame, and anger.
Length: 4 weeks
Dates: Monday, November 1st, and finishing on Friday, November 26th.
Learning and Interaction Structure: This course is based on written curriculum, with supplemental PDF downloads, audio recordings, self-reflection prompts, experiential exercises, forum questions, and weekly live Zoom webinars.
Live Webinar Discussions: These weekly 1 hour webinars are a mix of experiential practices and further discussion, which builds on each week’s curriculum. These sessions will be held on the Zoom webinar program, every Friday from 10am-11:00am Pacific Time. (These sessions will be recorded on our private server if you cannot attend).
Zoom Webinar Schedule: Friday – November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 10 to 11:00am Pacific Time.
Time Commitment: Please plan on setting aside 1-2 hours weekly for the written curriculum, and Forum discussion, and an additional sixty minutes for the Zoom webinar.
