Emotion Prep for the Holidays
Starts Friday, November 18 | In this 3-day workshop, you’ll learn how to identify, understand, and keep your holiday emotions in check.
Support Your Emotional Health During the Holidays
Join licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration® Consultant & Trainer, Sherry Jean Olander for a weekend workshop to start your holiday season right.
When you think of the holidays do you feel stressed, depressed, sad, or anxious? You’re not alone.
If you are like many others, the holidays might bring up a lot of emotions. And emotions can be overwhelming if you don’t understand them or know how to work with them. With the combination of traveling, family gatherings, financial strains, and expectations on every front, the holiday season is a perfect storm for an emotional train-wreck.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
This workshop will give you real skills you can use to prepare yourself for some of the common emotions that arise during this time of year. Information on the messages in your emotions, mindfulness skills, and tips for how to support your emotional health and promote healing during the holidays will all be shared in this focused weekend course.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll have access to focused curriculum, audio and visual recordings, and a live Forum for questions and discussions where we’ll explore:

Join Sherry and make this your best holiday season yet!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What will be covered in the Zoom?
A: The Zoom portion of this workshop is only part of its content. We will have a brief overview of some of the concepts, go over how to access the online written curriculum and Forum, and we will go through a few of the practices together. There will also be time for questions and discussion.
Q: Will there be homework?
A: That’s up to you! This workshop has journal prompts that may be helpful to explore, and there are exercises to practice if they feel helpful, but it’s all at your own pace and preference.
Q: What do I need for this workshop?
A: Really, just a computer (or other device), internet access, and a willingness to learn a new way of understanding and working with your emotions. There are about 8 page-long units on different topics and emotions that you can read online, several audio recordings, and a Forum where you can write your questions and comments that Sherry will answer.
Q: I think my parent needs to take this workshop. Can I sign them up?
A: You can gift workshops and courses at Empathy Academy, but it’s important to make sure the recipient actually wants to take the course. Pressuring someone to take a course about their emotions is not very empathic!
Q: Will this workshop help me deal with my Uncle Jim at dinner?
A: Well, we’re not promising to change anyone’s political views or heal a lifetime of trauma in a short online workshop, but there’s a good chance these concepts and skills WILL help you work better with the emotions that come up for you when Uncle Jim does his thing. And having those skills might just even make a civil conversation possible.
