Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I haven’t made any art since pre-school, can I still do this workshop?
A: Yes, this workshop is designed for everyone, and absolutely no previous art experience is required.
Q: What does mark-making mean?
A: Mark-making is a very natural thing to do when you realize that you are free to draw and make marks in any way that comes naturally to you; there is no right or wrong way to make marks on paper. Art and mark-making practices are simple ways you can work with your feelings and emotions, and the various marks/images which arise are unique to each individual.
Q: Does everyone have an ‘inner artist’?
A: Yes, but perhaps you have not yet realized this. Making art of any kind is an innate quality in us, but often we have not grown up believing this. Each one of us has our own unique creative imagination.
Q: Do I have to show my drawings to anyone?
A: No, you are free to choose if you wish to share your drawings with others in the group or not. You are exploring new ways of channeling and working with your feelings and emotions, and the marks you make and the images that emerge are personal to you.
