Learning to Parent with Your Emotions

Parenthood can be one of the most rewarding, silly, scary, fun, frustrating, humbling, and life-changing adventures. As you navigate the ups and downs of parenthood, your emotions are regularly on task. Learning to listen to, respect, and work with your emotions is possibly the best way to support yourself, your partner(s), and your children.

In this course, you’ll learn about the gifts in all 17 emotions, and we’ll focus on a few emotions that are especially active in the life of parenting. We’ll learn through sharing relatable parenting stories of struggles and triumphs, and we’ll explore many practices and skills to support your emotions and your children’s unique emotional lives.

Learning and Interaction Structure: This course is based on written curriculum, optional Forum questions, and weekly live Zoom webinars.

Live Zoom Webinar Discussions: These weekly 1.5-hour webinars are a mix of experiential practices and further discussion, which builds on each week’s curriculum. Each Zoom will have a guest licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration® professional present on a topic related to each week’s curriculum. These sessions will be held on the Zoom webinar program on Wednesdays from 11:30am to 1pm Pacific Time, and they will be recorded on our private server if you cannot attend.

Webinar Schedule: Wednesdays from 11:30am to 1pm Pacific Time. Zoom dates: September 27, October 4, 11, 18.

Time Commitment: You’ll read the course curriculum and interact in the Forum on your own schedule (plan for a minimum of 2-3 hours per week), and you’ll meet with your instructors and your classmates for 1.5 hours on Zoom each week.

A: Yes! It’s never too early to learn about emotions and how to support the emotional development of your children.

Q: What if I am not able to attend a Zoom session?

A: The Zooms will be recorded each week and posted in our private course Forum where you can watch them on your own time.

Q: I do not have children of my own. Can I participate in this course?

A: Yes. This course was created for parents or anyone who plays a significant role in a child’s life.

About the Instructors

Gregg Rozeboom

Gregg Rozeboom is double-licensed as a Dynamic Emotional Integration® Trainer and Consultant, and he is a husband and father of five.

Gregg brings his dedication and passion to his teaching, and especially enjoys working with parents, children, and families, helping them learn about the invaluable gifts and skills in their emotions. He has many years of experience parenting his own 5 children of various ages, and supporting their unique emotions while learning about and supporting his own emotions as a father, partner, and business-owner.

Scott Gallagher

Scott Gallagher is a Dynamic Emotional Integration® licensee-in-training, and he is an educator and a husband and father of one.

Scott currently works as a mentor/teacher in a self-directed learning cooperative for teenagers, and helps them create unique educational experiences. He also helps parents to be more empathic in their parenting, and to use their emotions to connect with their kids and to make parenting decisions. As a father of a teenager, he gets regular opportunities to practice listening to his emotions and being more empathic.

Amanda Ball

Amanda Ball is a double-licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration® (DEI) Trainer and Consultant, and she’s a supporting teacher at Empathy Academy and Director of Operations at Emotion Dynamics.

Amanda draws from her past experience teaching DEI to teenagers and helping parents and teachers better understand and support the emotions of their children and students. As a daughter, she relies on lessons from witnessing her own parents and her childhood experiences to inform her approach to teaching about the significance of emotions in parenthood.
